Product: Lenovo Yoga Tablet

Lenovo has recently launched new tablets in market- Yoga tablets.

The tablets has following features-

The product offers a thin, light weight tablet that has a strong battery life [18 hours] and an innovative, multi mode design sets it apart from other tablets. It is touted as better than iPad.

An average tablet by the way gives you 11 hours of battery life.

The conecpt behind this device was the Lenovo's idea to make something that stands apart in sea of similar looking, similar functioning products.

It has cylindrical handle that enables you to use it in three different modes- Hold mode, Stand mode and Tilt Mode.

What are different modes and what they do-
Hold Mode- This is best mode for reading. You can just hold / grab the handle for a more comfortable experience while reading that includes e-books, long emails, articles, messages etc.

Stand Mode- Rotate the cylinder for 90 degrees to enable stand mode and use your tablet for watching movies or having video chats.

Tilt Mode- Ideal for web browsing, gaming and typing.

The design is indeed unique, industrial and light. What else do you expect from the world's top PC manufacturer who sold more phones than PC last year. It is now out in market to give all tablet a run of their money and claim back in their forte in PC manufacturing, extending it to tablets. The design is quite unique to any other tablet in the hot Android market.

Cons: The price could be better as copared to Nexus 7 as launched last year.

My Thoughts on Immune India

Dabur Chyawanprash has started an initiative wherein they are searching for most immune schools towards building a healthier generation and a healthier nation.

To know more click here- www.daburchyawanprash.com

Immunity is not something new to Indian Diaspora. We very well know what it means and why should we have a stronger immune system to fights against any harmful microorganism attack to the body. The same is about Chyawanprash.

What is a Chyawanprash
It is a Jam like a mixture of various herbs, spices and other edible ingredients that are picked as per the science of Ayurveda and made into a concoction as per following the traditions of Ayurveda. It claims multiple health benefits and is popular in country like India and others. The most pertinent claim that it carries is to safeguard and build the immunity system of our body against common and rare diseases.

The product was earlier targeted essentially towards aging and elderly people as their body immunity starts falling after a certain age, making them prone to weakness and bad health. Off late, the shift has shifted more towards the young adult market where it is emphasized to inculcate the development of immunity right from the tender age i.e. childhood. Of course, the proposition is logical as a healthy child makes a healthy generation and a healthy nation.

The changing face of Chywanprash
Chyawanprash was earlier available in a single, simple pack product in the market. The changing market and ever-changing needs and palate of humans has lead to enhanced offerings in colorful boxes with different flavors from Mango to Mixed fruit to a sugar-free variant for diabetic and diet conscious people.

Immunity a mother's worry
A mother tries to do the best for her child. She leaves no stone unturned to make her child happy and healthy. However, a lot of her efforts are based on her child's adherence to them. For example- you can take a horse to the river but can't make him drink water. The same happens with the child.

Mothers pack their lunch box with nutritious food but they exchange it for some junk food from other children in school or don't eat the food inside, dump it somewhere and bring empty boxes to show their mother their fake earnestness.

They also drink water from unknown resources or unfiltered sources like direct from tap etc. Be it winter or breezy weather, if they do not want to wear woolen, so they do not. No matter how much a mother forces them to, they will end up taking it off and doing their wishful.

So mothers all over the world schemed and plotted and finally come up with a solution- Dabur Chyawanprash. They cannot ensure if their child is adhering to their usual guidance w.r.t health or not, they ensure that if the child has his/her two teaspoons of Chyawanprash every day, he is sorted.

This indeed is a simple and healthy habit to foster the development of immunity in the child.

The other few notable things to build a stronger, healthier and more immune India are-

  1. Public Sanitation System
  2. Cleaner surroundings
  3. Use of quality materials whether it is for construction of buildings, roads or public infrastructure or is it towards better medical facilities, medicines, and eatables/
  4. Wash hands before eating
  5. Clean water for everyone to drink
  6. Faster control and effective prevention system of epidemics like Dengue etc
If we do not leave by example or lead with dignity, how do we expect our generations to be healthy, wealthy and wise? Health is true wealth. Let us join hands and make #ImmuneIndia a success.

Apple strikes Gold with New iPhone 5S

So Blackberry is already a thing of past! Samsung has stormed the market too much and Nokia still trying to survive with Asha and Lumia. The one product that sell undoubtedly is Apple and how.

New iPhone 5S is out and yet to make it's grand entry on Indian Shores. Or has it? Yes, it has but through grey market. The new strategically launched champagne colored iPhone 5 was a runaway hit in US market wherein it was completely sold off within few hours of release last month. Call it grossly under estimated sales projection or hush strategy of the manufacturer. (If reports are to be believed, Apple's flagship store at Fifth Avenue in New York city saw a minimum of 1400 shoppers awaiting their luck on the day of release. Imagine their disappointment when they were informed about the sold out status of the phone before even getting to see it.

Given the gold craze at Indian Shores, this phone is sure to make fast bucks. Picture this, many of people will be assessed by their bosses on their sheer ability to procure this model "on first owner basis" at given rates.

Is it the new color/form factor or just the fanfare surrounding the "latest release" from the premium basket of apple or the inbuilt desire of person owning all this jazzy indicating a linkage to "Maslow' self actualization theory"??

Not just this, to further dilute the market, apple has also launched 5C a seemingly low end iPhone variations in solid candy colors like that of Nokia Lumia. But will they work as much as any other iPhone or just fizzle away in front of Samsung's Note 3 or S4? Time will tell. My verdict- They will cause ripple but won't build much stakes unless they really target with seemingly low price point in bracket of 15k to 25K

Is there a difference between iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S?
Although critics are praising the new iPhone 5S, many consumer are doubting the significant difference between two.

A comparison can be drawn on given the few parameters-

  1. Build: The specs and dimensions are identical except for the redesigned home button and colors of the model.
  2. Display: same retina display
  3. Camera: Both has 8 mega pixel camera but 5S has dual led flash with improved sensor and lens. This is one sphere where the new iPhone5S scores better than iPhone 5. Apparently the best camera apple ever made.
  4. Connectivity: The new iPhone supports more LTE bands than iPhone 5.
  5. Processor: Same. Both have equally good processors (A6 and A7).
  6. Software: While the iPhone 5S comes with pre-installed IOS7, iPhone 5 too has the room to upgrade to same.
  7. Battery Life: Really expecting battery life from smart phones? Well in that case the new iPhone 5S edges above the iPhone 5 with better battery hours lasting upto 10 hours of talk-time to 3G in comparison to 8 hours TT in iPhone 5.
  8. Storage: Same options available i.e. 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.

HauteKutir's verdict:
Go for iPhone 5S if only you have a budget for the same. Otherwise, the existing iPhone 5 is as good as it can get so far. If you really fancy the color that new iPhone has to offer, than suggest trying some good ombre or bling covers that are widely available in the market cause you will need them anyways and is highly recommended to keep your phones safe. For me iPhone 5C is a strict no-no and I would rather wait for iPhone 6 rather than upgrading my iPhone 5 to 5S.

Well that's all folks!

Gold, Silver, Space Gray or the regular white/ Black- What is your pick?

Review: Park Avenue Beer Shampoo

Disclaimer: No offense intended but People/reviewers who are shouting from roof top claiming having great product knowledge and stuffs like Park Avenue Beer Shampoo to be "new" launch should check their facts as this is not a new launch and was earlier available too. Read this blog to know more!

Product : Park Avenue Beer Shampoo
Product Type: Toiletries, Shampoo
Company: Park Avenue, Raymonds
TG: Men

Park Avenue has re-launched one of it's man grooming product- Beer shampoo.

I bought this product from a local hyper market and here's my experience-

Product Packaging: Cool Corona looking packaging, almost taken as beer bottle. Unique and handy! Thumbs up!

Pricing: Rs 160/- for 200ml

Promotion: The TV ad "Cheers to Man hair" [created by Publicis South Asia, featuring Andrews B Smith] looks like a straight lift from any vintage ad but miss the chance here. However, it conveys the message of having a standalone shampoo for men in a different way (thankfully, no celebrity holding a bottle and saying- I use it..you too use pl types). It may look fun beer advertising but lacks the seriousness of shampoo advertising. The ad is tacky yet manages to capture eyeballs and deem unique than a lot of garbage being sold on TV.

Haute Kutir Reality Check: Not many people are aware that this brand and shampoo was very much available in market in late 80's and early 90's as well. The packaging was different as it used to come in flat shape rectangular bottle. The smell too was different and I remember using it as a kid, secretly from my father's shower closet. This is not a new product Folks!

USP: Beer is one of the most popular beverage among men and known for it's conditioning and volume boosting impact on hairs, and that is where the product draws its Unique Selling Point from. Positioning it as men' hair care is another feather in cap.

My Verdict: A lot more was expected from this brand. Knowing that it is not a feminine brand but since I had a good experience of this product earlier, I tried it this time only to find myself disappointed. The fact that shampoo was not very pleasant to smell and reminded of slight artificial flavors could be omitted  but the fact that it failed to recreate it's magic on my hairs didn't gel with me.

The post Shampoo hair weren't as conditioned or shiny as expected. Rather it made the hair dry and flaky. It lathers up really well but for minimum shoulder length hairs, it demanded conditioner. The smell was little gross but bearable and wears post wash.

This product may find many male takers in the market for sure given it's positioning and also the growing grooming need of Indian Men.

VFM Quotient: Is this product Value for money? For me, Alas, it didn't work much. Others- unless the shampoo really suits your hairs and give good results, spend only if you want to buy a jazzy looking/sounding product with no great benefits!

Haute Kutir Rating: 3/5

5-4-3-2-1 Dominos Pizza

Weekend time and time to write my first "write on weekends". Though I wasn't sure about writing on it for a fashion or lifestyle or beauty blog but such is a beauty of the prompt that it found a place and how...

I am covering this prompt under the "Food and lifestyle" category. Here's a small experience of buying Pizza online via Dominos Pizza.

Weekend hit us and we were in mood to eat pizza today after a tiring cooking ritual on Saturday. Pa said, order pizza if you want. Our first choice for home delivery was from Pizza hut. Sadly we were informed by the "snooty" Pizza hut folks that they do not deliver Pizza at Kandivali West that may be a little more than 2 KMs from their nearby Mindspace outlet. "You have to come for a takeaway" they said.

We had a bad experience ordering pizza fro Dominos last week (coming soon) where they sent an expensive pizza that looked like garbage and tasted like a guilt that why we ordered. So I was little skeptical. I searched online for offer but in vain. Time was running, so I went to their website and ordered pizza online. The portal said- find great discount while ordering online! I was sold and quickly I booked not one or two but 4 pizza and one recently launched Cal zone pocket (review coming shortly).

The beauty of online was that you can track the order stage i.e. whether it is confirmed, being prepared, baked or dispatch. The sad part was that I didn't see much discount. However, I was provided with order no using which I can call the nearest outlet (details given) to find more about my pizza and club additional order if possible. So, I rang them and mentioned about the great pizza fiasco that I suffered last week and requested for a decent pizza this time. They politely accepted and told me that since my order is more than 4 pizza, it may take more than the promised 30 minutes...before I could wonder why, they also suggested that since they do not have much order for the day, I may get it on time. Hmmm..I told them to take their sweet time but gimme good pizza this time.

They lived to their words and hey presto, my pizza came on time. Here's the 5-4-3-2-1 dominos effect here
Pictures below

So, what was my favorite? Hmm I loved the cheese capsicum, onion most whereas the rest of all were/t too enticing for me given the meager topping they use. I am a big fan of thin crust over baked pizza like they serve in Cheri and Olive qutub. Yeah, it was too much for both of us though and it would be so lovely if we had more people joining us...
