Product Snapshots

Want to have a closer look at the products that I received in my Glamego box for September?

What I liked about this box

1) Super economical box
2) Good range of products
3) No lip balms, thankfully
4) A product [Bella vosta] exclusively made available for this box
5) Interesting mix of product

What Could Have Been Better

I received two shower products- a soap and a shower gel. It felt a little out of place as it was not a spa/shower theme.

My Favorite in the box

I really loved the Bella Voste nail gel and the Bio Bloom soap looks enticing.

Haute Kutir Verdict: I like the Glamego box. It is a simple super affordable and always comes with interesting brands and fresh Products. While there are various beauty subscription boxes as available in the market, Glamego stands unique from each.

The delivery is quick and comes unscathed. It is better than Fabbag in terms of delivery, product quality, and value for money.

So if you are looking for a good Beauty subscription box, go for Glamego and give it a try. I recommend trying a 3-month subscription, to begin with.

Let me know how you liked my video and your views on this box.

Love,
Haute Kutir

Five Festive Fashion Must Have From FBB India

Festival, Fashion & Women!

Come August and Indian Continent starts looking a big melange of lights, colors, and festivity all around.

Starting from the Ganesh Chaturthi to Navratri to Diwali to Ramzan to Christmas, the last quarter of the year is full of festive cheer.

Hey women, In midst of all festive preparations, do not forget to tend to self. Other than the religious rituals, the festivals are more about dressing well, feeling and having a hale of time with family and friends. I have already shared a Maharashtrian makeup look with you on my YouTube channel. Subscribe and stay tuned for more festival special look coming on my YouTube Channel.

Watch My Maharashtrian Makeup Tutorial

FBB Fashion, Look No further

So while the makeup is sorted, let us figure out some festive clothing as well. When it comes to fashion, what could be more appropriate than Indian Ethnic wear? And when it comes to Indian ethnic wear, look no further but our own indigenous brand- FBB [Fashion at Big Bazaar].

There are various advantages of shopping with FBB. Some of them are-

1) One stop, wide range of clothing option for the whole family
2) Cost Effective Pricing
3) Multiple Outlet Across the city including small towns
4) Made in India

Given the wide range of Indian, Western, Indo Western clothing available at FBB, it is obvious that you may confuse what to shop and how to style. Given the fact that you may have 1000s of things to tend during the festival season and shopping for self-becomes a second priority, I, in association with team FBB have come up with few Fashion and Styling ideas that you may like to try.

I have visited a nearest FBB store and have given myself 30 minutes to pick up some interesting looking clothes and took some time to style them for you. here we go-

My Five Festive Must Have from FBB [Fashion + Styling]

1) Red Hot Flamingo

Type: Indo Western

Is it a kurta or a Kaftan? Well, it is both and yet none.

For the first look, I picked up this simple but asymmetrical Kurta Top in red. It has a golden embroidery at the center and comes with an interesting match of sleeves and asymmetrical flare at the bottom.

It is a simple, easy to style Kurta that you can wear your denim, trousers or cigarette pants. The bright red and golden brings a good glow to your face and you can style it with minimal jewelry. Besides, it is good for size zero as well regular and plus size women.

2) Lehariya Blaze

Style: Indo western

w

I love Oranges and being a Rajasthani, I love all things Leharaiya. So when I saw this beautiful orange shrug in lehariya print, I wasted no time to pick it. It is a  simple, beautiful long shrug which cannot be worn alone but when paired well with right clothing, it can accentuate your style quotient to the moon.

I paired it with a beautiful white and gold short top from the same store. Since it is a festive combination of Orange, Gold and White, that speaks for themselves, I paired them with a regular blue denim.

Denim reminds me the amazing collection at FBB. If you are a skinny or even a plus size female, check out their denim starting from INR 700 and above. Some amazing piece of Jeans there.

3) The Belle Edit
Style: Indian / Indo western

You call it Crimson, you call it Maroon, I call it perfect festive belle color. There is something about the deep maroon color, it is beautiful and adds that special glow on your face. When I saw this long Maroon Kurta with my favorite band gala neck, I know it had to be part of my wardrobe.

You can wear it atop white, maroon or beige leggings or salwar or even a normal skinny jeans too [if you are not too much into Indian Dressing] and style it with a nice neck piece or a statement earrings. I have styled it with my tribal fusion necklace and it looked brilliant.

Taking a dupatta is optional. If you may wish, go for a similar color or a net or a beige golden sheer dupatta [can also be worn as stole].

4)  Simply Sindoori

I told you am smitten with the color orange and when combined with Gold and pink/red, the color spells sparkle.

To style this look, I picked this straight fit, long sleeve Kurta from Shristi and paired it with deep red leggings.

This look is perfect for women who like to wear bright yet simple attire. The kurta has a charm that the moment you wear it, it makes you feel good and look charming. It has a round neck but with round cloth button pattern on left, so you can accessorize it with a pair of earrings in golden color or wide bangles/kada.

5) The Grey Enchantress

There is something mystical and magical about the color black. It is one of my favorite colors and I loved the styling with it.

I picked this enchanting black, gray lehenga skirt from FBB with golden detailing. Paired it with a black and halter neck from the same store. You can pair it with a long top, kurta or shirt of any other color incl silver gray or cream. I have picked this look for the ras-garba.

To accessorize, pick a set of broad, narrow bangles and up your quirky ante. If you have long hairs, braid it in a pony or a bun and add some white flowers for that ethnic look.

Well, those were my five festive Fashion must-haves from FBB. I have also tried option in Palazzo and cotton skirts. I have picked and styled this look at the newly opened FBB outlet in Andheri West, Mumbai. You can shop these looks from any FBB outlet nationwide.

PS: The recommendations are basis the stock available in the select outlet and may not be a comprehensive list of all festive garments on hangers.

Review of Innisfree Cushion Foundation

Cushion Foundation & the Vogue

Cushion Foundation is quite a makeup rage these days. Everyone is talking about them and brands coming with their own line of this product. And why not, given the product handiness and ease of application, it is a well-deserved talk of the town.

I was not too kicked about them when I heard about them recently. I had an experience with them during my school time. Yes, my school time, wherein like a lot of teenagers, I have rightfully claimed the product from my mom' makeup stash and try on self without knowing the congruency between shade type and skin tone.

I am unsure if the brand was Estee or cover girl? I do not recall but yeah it was quite square in the shape. Very moist. Probably I did not use it right at that time or may be the shade wasn't my type. But hell yeah! If you are a teen and you try your mom's makeup with limited skill sets, it is all set to go wrong. Right?

Well, right, no or maybe...that is what I thought when Innisfree invited me to their make-up master class with Indian beauty artist Namrata Soni [Oh she is such a pretty dame and quite deft at her work too]

I told myself- "Ah well cushion foundation did not work for me."
I replied to self- What may not have worked in the past, may not necessarily not work in the future too
"Ah I have got a point" I quipped
"we have got a point," said my inner self and pat myself on back.

I gathered myself from the confusion and I was like ok..let's try it.

Innisfree Makeup Masterclass with Namrata Soni

So when I attended Innisfree Namrata Soni makeup master class, little did I realize that cushion foundation will become one of my makeup go to products. Quite literally.

Moving from my quite a long prologue, let me tell you a little more about this cute little product that I have been using for quite a while and have even shot a video on the same. You can watch this video here.

It is a newly launched [in India] Cusion Foundtaion from InnisfreeBefore you ask me, let me tell what is a Cushion foundation is.

A cushion Foundation or CF is a liquid pre-makeup formula that is housed in a compact and comes with a sponge applicator. It is essentially a round sponge soaked/filled with liquid foundation and can be used as touch up.

After BB and CC creams, it is another charming makeup trend borrowed from South Korea. The product aims to provide sheer coverage along with some skincare benefits like sunscreen and dewy finish. They come in easy to travel with cushion cases. Interestingly you can make your own cushion foundation.

While there are several brands from Etude house to Maybelline that have their own line of Cushion Foundations, we shall explore more on the one provided by one of my favorite brand- Innisfree.

About Innisfree Cushion Foundation

It has two variants available- long wear and water glow. Each of them comes in 6 different shades, suiting different skin/ complexion types

Staying power is decent and a well-applied CF on a clean face can stay up to 5-6 hours easily. Good new is that it comes in 6 different shades for 2 different skin types- oily and dry skins.

I have a wheatish to fair skin complexion with combination kind of the skin. Since my skin is more on the dry part, I have selected an appropriate shade from the water glow range.

Here is how my Innisfree Cushion Foundation looks like:

Few striking points about this product based on my usage-
It is sheer and has a natural dewy finish, wherein the Coverage is medium and it has a dewy finish but it often tends to get a little oily unless you pack it well with a good compact.

It is easy to blend and can be slightly built upon but not too heavy I guess. The product packaging looks good and comes with a wide range of vibrant cases. The smell is fresh
I have tried one from etude house and somehow find this better.

How To use: Select your applicator. It comes with an option of four different application tools ranging from a soft sponge to beauty blender to a foundation brush.

My Video Review on YouTube

What I loved
1) easy to carry and apply
2) Good staying power
3) Attractive packaging
4) Goodness of Innisfree that is known for its green ingredient from Jeju island
5) Compact
6) Lightweight...does not feel like wearing any foundation

What I did not like
1) less product for higher price
2) Too expensive
3) Not an even toned coverage
4) Repeat, pro longed usages breaks the skin or makes it turn somewhat grainy

Haute Kutir Verdict: I am not a BB cream person and foundations gives me a very heavy feel. Cushion foundation comes as a boon to me. This one has a good puff applicator but the coverage is very average. In spite, I like the product for its handiness and ease of usage. It is very light on the skin and good for casual wear.

The price like I said is on a higher side and if worked upon, will make this product quite sought after vis a vie the ones in the same segment.

Let me know if you have tried one and if yes, do share your experience.

Love
Ekta
