Ganpati Bappa Morya!
Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the big festivals in India. It is celebrated across the country especially in Land of Maratha's - The Maharashtra! Well, that was my simple introduction for people /readers [esp the one abroad] who are not aware of this festival. Now you are.
So Ganpati Bappa is here. Sitting at my highrise apartment in Mumbai Suburb, I can hear the din. The city is brimming with festivities and drum rolls are literally tearing the ear drums. Everyone is doing their bit to celebrate this auspicious festival. In a bid to contribute and make it even more joyous for the women who are celebrating this festival, I have created a simple yet festive makeup look befitting the true Maharashtrian Style!
Maharashtrian Makeup look
If you have noticed, Maharashtrian women are quite simple and non-flashy in the dressings. They have, however, quite sharp features that work as best accessories along with the Nath they wear. Their beauty, like any other women, lies in their simplicity. Their makeup is subtle and focusses mostly on the Bindi, bright lipstick, the Maharashtrian Nath and beautiful border sarees they wear.I have tried to re-create the same look sans the flower head gear. The products used are common makeup products and are brand agnostic. Given the high level of festive occupancy, I have kept the overall scheme of things simpler to ensure that even women who are not too comfortable doing their own makeup can try this look.
