Teach Your Kids How to #HaarkoHaraao

The values we give our kids in their childhood, largely frame their personality.

We feel it’s perfectly okay for our kid to fall a few times before he can actually walk a few steps for the first time, then why do we forget to give our kids that time he needs to succeed when he grows a little older

It’s not if you win or lose, It’s all how you play the game
It’s time we tell our children, “It’s okay to fail, but never give up.”

Hope you remember my nephew Pihu from airport blog. I met him recently and was surprised to see him ace his Tennis game. However, he mentioned he will yet not participate in his school tournament. When I asked why his only answer was “What if I lose?” He was scared of failure. Even when the match is a great opportunity for him, he is only worried about protecting the school’s reputation in presence of his teachers and other students. He didn’t want to be looked down upon.
It took me a little while to explain to him that in a game of two, one is bound to win and the other bound to lose. The one who wins takes away the medal but the one who loses takes away a beautiful learning experience and more tips to ace his game next time. Life is a series of experiences, each one of which makes us bigger and better.
And how it is perfectly ok to not win.  It is persistence, perseverance, and tenacity of goals that define chalk from cheese, winners from quitters.
Always be a good sport, because everybody’s trying the same.
Looks like my positive confrontation worked and after a little nudge he agreed to play, and though he did not win that game, he played well, neck to neck. We celebrated that day.
As a parent, I encourage my kid and make him believe what he is capable of.
When preparing kids for life, let us tell them the value of hard work but they should also be prepared to cope with failures.
It is important that we remember - Expect the best, but be prepared for the worst.
Our only aim is to teach our kids to be better than what they were yesterday, at anything and everything.
Failures should be treated as stepping stones, an opportunity for improvement. And trust me, a little encouragement goes long.
It is important to instill positive goal alignment in kids, irrespective of what goals are. We should nourish their goals beyond the boundaries of success and failure. Accepting your failures and learning from them is an important life skill that every child needs to be taught. It is a tool for course correction and not a machinery of fear.

Unboxing January 2018 My Envy Box

The Joy of Unboxing

Beauty boxes are indeed other's envy and owner's pride.

I take too much of pride or rather say joy in my monthly beauty subscription boxes. My Envy box or MEB is the one.

Unboxing your monthly beauty subscription box every month is an altogether a different joy. I am super curious to know the theme every month and see what is packed inside, and then try what appeals most.

Talking about luxury beauty subscription boxes, if there is one name that stands tall in India, it is MEB box. And this month is the first in the New Year, the box ought to be special.

So when I received an SMS from the courier company stating the probable delivery of the box a little ahead than usual time, I was way excited. Normally, I received my MEB post 17th or so but this month it came a little early and that was so delightful.

I canceled my outing and waited for the box. As the bell rang, I know it has to this and quickly slipped to pick it up and shoot.

Before I could say light, camera, action, I needed to step out for some work. And could shoot only in the night. I finished shooting by 1:00 am, edited till 2:30 and then finally uploaded on my YouTube Channel.

Hmph! Hmph!

Do watch my video here to know what all have I received in my January 2018 MEB including the shades and my overall view.

And yes, do not forget to subscribe to my channel. It is free you know!

My Unboxing Video

To know what all I received inside my box, their sizes and price, do check out my YouTube video below-

If you liked my video, do Subscribe My YouTube Channel. Your small efforts whether in form of views, likes and comments will encourage me to make better videos.

The box, packaging, and design

I wanted to have a quick word on the box's design. I loved the Ultra-Violet color/pattern in the design. If you are aware, Ultra-Violet is the Pantone color of the year, and am so glad that it is the same color for this month's box. Co-incidence or brand strategy, whatever it is, it is pleasing.

Thankfully the box and the products inside came intact.

The MRP of this box is Rs 850 and you can check some interesting BOGO [Buy One Get One Free] or Buy 2 Box at low-cost offers from their website.

My favorites from the box:-
1) Am absolutely crushing on the four different nail paints from Bella Voste Brand. They have a good color, fast to dry and nice finish. You can check the swatches etc on my Video. Another reason for you to watch my video.

2) The Elixir Hair Fall Control Serum sounds interesting and I have tried it twice. Do let me know if you want a detailed review of the sort.

Value For Money: Details on my Video

Do I recommend this box: Yes, I do. If you still want to decide whether you want to subscribe it or not, check out my last few reviews/ unboxing videos of the same. Hope that helps as it takes quite an effort to make a video and I would be so glad that if it is helpful. Let me know your feedback as well :)

Love,

When I Tried PAC Cosmetics Zero Pore Separation Primer Cream

How I Met PAC

Past Week, my sister in law visited me, in a bid to do some makeup on me. She wanted to pick few cosmetics from the PAC shop near my house as well, the one that I have often planned to visit but you know, how things get skipped.

So finally, I took the plunge for the much-awaited store visit. While we reached the place, which was a PAC heaven actually wherein you can try all variants of PAC cosmetics including their wonderful makeup brushes, makeup, vanity kits etc.

After applying the newly acquired patience that I developed at Sephora Dubai [mumbai always has low stock plus the distance between us is quite high], I tried to demonstrate the same there. Thanks to Colorbar who handed me a makeup goodie box recently which I have not tried, I managed to save my bank and picked stuff that was immediately required- A Primer.

Primer for the Zero pore

You may ask that when in my videos I keep on saying that I do not have pores, why do I have to pick a primer? Well, the simple logic is that I need a good primer to serve as a good base while I apply foundation. Hence, something with Zero Pore makes more sense to me.

Thankfully PAC had not just one but Two. After a bit of eeni meeni myna moe, I picked one- The Zero Pore Separation Cream

PAC Zero Pore Separation Cream

What: Face Primer
Brand: PAC Cosmetics
MRP: Rs 750 for 30GM
Form: Transparent Gel
Packaging: Round Glass bottle

I have shot my first impression, a brief trial and bundled them all in a YouTube Video. In this video, I will be talking about-

1) How I selected this product
2) My First Impression
3) A quick trial, using it as a base for makeup
4) A quick comparison using a primer form my existing brand, using half on half method.

I have used the primer only on face baring my eyelid. Why so? Cause I generally do not wear primer on my eyelids and have a separate base for it. In this video, I had barely any makeup on me except a little lipstick and eyeliner, as I wanted to do a "real-time"/ "as real as it can get" review for you without trying to conceal my no makeup look :P

Subscribe My YouTube Channel

I post 1-2 videos every week, largely on beauty, makeup, and lifestyle. So do check my channel and give it a try. I would love to see you there!

What I Liked About The Product

1) Texture and Finnese
2) It absorbs quickly
3) Specialist for a no-pore skin
4) Overall feel

What I Think Could Be Better

1) Packaging could be in a transparent, light-weight Tube form
2) Pricing could be within 500 range though it is competitive.

Overall, I am happy with my purchase and like I mentioned in my video, only repeat usage will help me ascertain if this product will be my holy grail or no. Till such time, go ahead and try this cream if you have a dry skin-no-pore condition and if you are looking for a good primer.

I hope you will like my review/ trial Tuesday, do let me know what do you think? I love your feedback.

Makeup Trends To Ditch in 2018

"Creativity is intelligence having fun" Albert Einstein

Trends might be creative, sometimes completely out of the box and absolutely endearing. They, however, come with a certain shelf life and indeed an opportunity to improvise.

Notwithstanding, disagreement towards following trends blindly, I have compiled few trends that I humbly think should either exit or take a better shape [literally] in the year 2018.

Video: Simple Party Makeup Using Color of the 2018

New Year, New Color: Happy 2018

Happy New Year, my lovelies. The date changed to 2018 from 2017, and soon you will find many things changing the beauty, Fashion and Lifestyle circuit including the new makeup and hair, Fashion dressing trends for 2018. Not the forget the color of the year.

Olive green, Indigo, and millennial pinks are the thing of the past, The color of the year 2018 is predicted to be "Ultraviolet". Ultraviolet is a feisty color after all that communicates visionary thinking, ingenuity, and originality.

I find the color, including its hues quite cosmic and contemplative, enigmatic and complex. It has a very pop of a cultured sound to it and hence makes a great wear for the party!

Last year when Sigma Beauty sent me their smokehouse palette, I chose to try the least used color i.e. Purple [misty] and wore the look for one of my September videos. Apparently, a lot of you liked and made me do the makeup tutorial for that look.

Little did I knew that the star of the show- the purple eye-shadow will become the color of the upcoming year. Whoa! I am so excited and overwhelmed.

Let me live my moment, in the meantime, you watch this simple yet enchanting purple smokehouse makeup tutorial that you can wear to the party or even pop shows.

About The Look

I drew my inspiration for this look from the beautiful Sigma Eyeshadow palette that had an unusual shade of purple and aqua blue. Like many of you, I was not so comfortable with these two colors and always attributed them to people with a fairer complexion. Notwithstanding the behest to consume the pending utility of the palette for a long time, I thought of experimenting with them.

Purple Party Makeup Tutorial

It is not just the purple but the red, pink and the green has a ring to it. I wore this look on my olive green top with a silver bling. Feel free to recreate the same or experiment with different sets and share with me.

Watch now on YouTube

Hope you liked this video. If you do, do Subscribe to me on YouTube. You can catch my other makeup videos too.

I have deliberately tried to create this look as natural and as real, as I could. The minimal lighting set up and the phone camera will help you with a real feel so that you are not perplexed when the HDR finish of a few of the other YouTube tutorials does not translate as well on your face. Feel free to study your face, remodel the look.

In the meantime, do not forget to check my YouTube and follow me on other social media channels like - Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

See you soon.
